I feel happy for a classmate named Jomar. He’s leaving for the US tomorrow (finally) to be together with his wife after being separated for a year. He briefly told me the struggles they both had before the long awaited issuance of his visa and the anxiety that comes with it. They got married the day before the scheduled flight. Imagine his wife having to leave the country the next day after being married! How hard could that be?
I can feel sincerely happy for this person and I am wondering if the same will happen to me 3 years from now after I graduate and pass the hardest tests of my life. After we bade goodbye, he told me that soon my time will also come when I get to go to the US to work. I’ll just hope it’s going to happen.
