A New Dining Experience

Had dinner in Thousand Crane Shabu Shabu Restaurant in Greenbelt. Seafood shabu shabu is satisfactory but the beef kalbi is to die for. You can see sauce dripping while grilling the succulent meat in those red-hot coconut coals. We asked the waiter why use coconut charcoals instead of the regular uling and learned that the former stays longer, and is smoke-free than the uling counterpart. The tomitomo (it’s chicken done bbq style but better) is equally good. In addition to the gastronomic satisfaction that one can get from dining in this restaurant, you’ll be assured that what you actually eat is clean. The reason? The staff wraps all shabu shabu “apparatus” in large plastic bags at the end of the day, everyday to prevent roaches from running around them.
After devouring more than enough beef kolbi tonight I know I can’t be a vegan, however, I am not purely a carnivore. Now I’m being defensive.
